Senior 8+ Champions of Ireland
The 2019 Irish Championships provided an excellent opportunity for the full depth of UCD’s squad to pit themselves against Ireland’s best, returning with three Championships including the ‘The Big Pot’ for Men’s Senior 8+.
Visitors’ 4- reach Henley semi-finals
UCD’s first entry at Henley Royal Regatta since 2016 had an excellent run with strong wins against experienced opposition.
UCD overall winners at 2019 University Championships
UCD Mens and Ladies Boat Clubs combined to take home the overall prize at the University Championships in Lough Rynn while the men also picked up the Wylie Cup for a 20th time.
Top class racing at Dorney Lake
With University Championships on the horizon, London Metropolitan Regatta served as a great measure of performance for the squad against the strong standard across the sea with UCD returning with the Championship 4- title.
Return to racing at Dublin Met
UCD shook off the exams cobwebs with a wide range of success at Dublin Metropolitan Regatta in Blessington last weekend, with the regatta celebrating its 150th anniversary.
Mulvaney and O’Malley named UCD Sportspersons of the Year
UCD Ad Astra rowers Shane Mulvaney and David O’Malley were honoured at the 2019 UCD Sports Awards while the club’s Senior Treasurer and Coach Niall Farrell was presented with ‘Graduate of the Year’.
Tight racing at Skibb
Despite the approach of exams the club managed to send a strong contingent to the NRC in Cork to race the Sunday session at Skibbereen Regatta.
Gannon Cup returns to UCD
With Ciaran Gannon’s 75th anniversary approaching, UCD Boat Club reclaimed his namesake trophy in difficult conditions on the River Liffey.

With the Gannon Cup crew concentrating on their preparations for next week’s Colours Boat Races, UCD’s next two Eights stepped up a category to test themselves at Erne Head of the River.
Seville hits the spot again
