Centenary

UCD Boat Club, founded in 1917, celebrated its centenary in 2017 and marked the occasion in a number of ways.

Attire

The club commissioned a once-off centenary one-piece in the classic St Patricks blue with Saffron trim style used by many crews throughout the club’s history with the 1917-2017 milestone marked on the back.

A new Boat Club tie was also commissioned and is available to order here. The specially commissioned bow tie and cufflinks sets sold out before the Centenary Dinner.

Website

The club continues to digitise its records and gather as much material as possible from alumni to present its history online. Timeline highlights milestones for the club so far while Seasons includes information on every major win and international representation achieved by members. This will be continually improved and contributions are most welcome to [email protected].

Regatta

The club hosted an ‘At Home’ Regatta for UCD Boat Club, UCD Ladies Boat Club and Old Collegians members at Islandbridge on May 21st. Check out the photos here or video below:

Dinner

The club held its Centenary Dinner in O’Reilly Hall on 17th November, a magnificent occasion that brought together every living generation of UCD rowing.

Erne 8s HOR After some impressive performances in Enniskillen, UCD brings home the fastest overall time of the day, with UCDBC 'A' and 'B' coming 1st and 7th respectively in the Senior category.
