It was an Irish Championships like no other at the National Rowing Centre in Cork.
The Big Pot Defended
After a long wait UCD took to the 2021 Irish Championships with a Mens Senior 8+ title to defend and did so successfully, the first time for College since “The Animals” in the early 70s, while the Ladies Boat Club had an excellent weekend taking home the Womens Club 8+ and Womens Intermediate 8+.
Senior 8+ Champions of Ireland
The 2019 Irish Championships provided an excellent opportunity for the full depth of UCD’s squad to pit themselves against Ireland’s best, returning with three Championships including the ‘The Big Pot’ for Men’s Senior 8+.
Three National titles for UCD
The 2018 National Championships was a very special regatta for UCD, finishing with titles for Mens Senior 4-, Intermediate 8+ and Novice 8+.
UCD wins Intermediate 8+ National title
UCD won the Intermediate 8+ title at the 2017 National Championships for the first time since 2008. UCD Ladies Boat Club added the Senior 2- and joined up with Old Collegians to take home the Senior 8+, while Old Collegians themselves had wins in Senior 1x and Senior 2x.
Three National Titles for UCD and some narrow misses
UCD took 2016 National Championships for Mens Club 8+, Womens Senior 4- and Womens Intermediate 8+ but were pipped to the line in Mens Senior 8+ and Mens Intermediate 4+, while also finishing 2nd in Mens Senior 1x, Mens Senior 2-, Mens Intermediate 8+.
UCD Men finish the season with 5 National Championships
UCD Boat Club captured a total of five titles at the 2014 Irish Rowing Championships, with UCD Ladies Boat Club also winning the Womens Intermediate 8+.
