The Erne Eights Head of the River 2026 is taking place this Saturday, 7th of March with the Men’s Race starting at 2pm.

UCD beat Limerick Boat Club by 3/4 length in 1939 and then in 1940 beat Trinity:
The final was a classic – neck and neck over the whole course, Trinity leading twice, and then being pulled back. At the finish UCD was there again, but only by the narrowest of margins, given variously as one foot, three feet and a canvas.
