Competition

The club competes in international and domestic competitions. Some season highlights include the Henley Royal Regatta, the National Championships, University Championships and the Colours races. Follow the links to find out more.

The following is a list of trophies won by the College in the IARU National Championships of Ireland, the Wylie Cup (University Championships of Ireland), Henley Royal Regatta & the Gannon Cup (Colours race against Trinity College, Dublin) since 1939. The Lady Victoria Trophy was introduced in 2009 for the overall winner of the University Championships.

On the 100th anniversary of the historic Head of the River Race (HoRR), UCDBC has won the Overseas Pennant for the fastest time from an overseas crew. 🏆🚩Amongst the 375 boats that participated UCDBC “A” had a starting number of #36 but finished 15 places higher at #21. UCDBC “B” on the other hand started off at #65 and finished 3 places higher at #62.With the challenging weekend now concluded, the boat club leaves behind the head season and switches focus to the upcoming regattas, starting with the University Championship in 3 weeks time.#HonCollege
