The Erne Eights Head of the River 2026 is taking place this Saturday, 7th of March with the Men’s Race starting at 2pm.
Metro saw the good fortunes of the squads in the club change somewhat for the better. The Novice Squad achieved a very creditable second in the Novice 8s and a good performance in the Novice 4s.
The Intermediate 8 came second in their event and the Intermediate pair of the McColgain Brothers, in no way related to the Searle brothers, won with a good performance.
Sculling Johnny Devitt came 3rd in a large field of 24 entries in the Inter singles and teamed up with Dermot O’Sullivan in the Senior Double Scull where they finished second to a Commercial Double.
Next up is Cork City Regatta where there will be a similar entry to Dublin Metro. Information on crews going to Henley will be posted when the entry has been made.
