Sean Jacob tops the Dublin Sculling Ladder

Possibly the best Old Collegians & UCD results for the annual Dublin Sculling Ladder were achieved over the weekend. Out of a total of 172 entries, the 20 fastest times were recorded in the last Head of the day when flow conditions were reduced. Sean Jacob, ex-UCD & current OC, won the Ladder in a time of 6.33 with a comfortable margin of 17 seconds over Con Collis, also ex-UCD & current OC in 2nd place. Andrew Coleman of Lady Elizabeth Boat Club and Ben Clarke of Commercial Rowing Club took 3rd & 4th place respectively. Current UCD Sports Scholarship student Dave Neale finished a credible 5th after having to negotiate around John Holland?s son, Derek during the Head. Dave will also be representing the club at the Offaly Sculling Ladder taking place on Saturday 18th October.

Other Results: Tom Doyle (UCD) just missed out on a top 10 place finishing in 11th. Eoghan Garvey (OC) finished 13th & Richard Skelly (UCD) finished 32nd after missing out on competing in the faster last head.
