UCDBC placed 1st (Paul O’Donovan), 2nd (Shane Mulvaney) and 4th (David O’Malley) in the U23 Lightweight category at the 2016 IIRC, with Paul recording a fantastic 6:07.5 score. Martin Connor of UCDBC also placed 2nd in the Novice category.
30 athletes and 3 coaches departed to Seville in January for a warm weather (and storm-free) training camp. Well over 300km were clocked up across 9 days that included some valuable races against Cambridge University Lightweight RC and Upper Thames RC which will stand to our crews as they enter the racing season back home.
December saw the inaugural Plum Pudding Cup which gave current and past members the chance to race together in mixed 8s at Islandbridge and enjoy the tea/coffee, cakes and festive atmosphere.
