Gold and Silver at U23 World Championships
UCD Ad Astra athletes David O'Malley and Shane Mulvaney won the Lightweight Mens Pair while Andrew Goff stroked the Lightweight Mens Quad that finished 2nd at the U23 World Championships in Poznan, Poland.
Four Bronze medals for UCD athletes at U23s
All four UCD athletes competing at the 2017 World Rowing U23 Championships returned with medals as David O'Malley and Shane Mulvaney finished 3rd in the Lightweight Mens 2- with Shane O'Connell and Andrew Goff following it up with another 3rd place in the Lightweight Mens 4x.
To immortalise the historic 1974 Ladies Plate success of the Animals crew, UCD Boat Club head coach Niall Farrell has created a film documenting the crew’s win. With interviews from the crew and coaches, this documentary walks through the history and events surrounding one of UCD’s greatest sporting successes. The night of November 8 will be an opportunity to celebrate the Mens and Ladies Boat Clubs' achievements during the 2023/2024 season. In addition to the recognition of the year's accolades, we will be celebrating both the 50 year anniversary of the founding of the Ladies Boat Club, as well as the 50th anniversary of the success of the 1974 Animals crew at Henley.![]()
