30 athletes and 3 coaches departed to Seville in January for a warm weather (and storm-free) training camp. Well over 300km were clocked up across 9 days that included some valuable races against Cambridge University Lightweight RC and Upper Thames RC which will stand to our crews as they enter the racing season back home.

All those in UCD Boat Club are profoundly shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of our remarkable coach, rower and teammate, Martin Feeley. Martin was hugely influential on the club, both as a rower in "The Animals", and as a coach, guiding us to such extraordinary success in recent years. Winning three consecutive Men's Senior Eights at the Championships between 1971 and 1973, the Ladies Plate at Henley Royal Regatta in 1974 and representing Ireland at the 1976 Olympics, Martin then went on to coach the Men's Senior Eight to victory for four titles in a row from 2019 to 2023.Through countless other achievements and his unrelenting dedication to the club, Martin leaves his mark on UCDBC and on the sport. Martin will remain an inspirational leader and friend to generations of UCD rowers, and will be dearly missed. Our deepest condolences to Colleen, Tara, lain, Emmett, Aoife and all of the Feeley family.Ad Astra Martin.rip.ie/death-notice/martin-feeley-dublin-540467
