With college exams finishing earlier than in previous years, the club looked to travel to Cork City Regatta for the first time in several years to compete for the prestigious Leander Trophy. Unfortunately, unsafe weather conditions forced the regatta committee to cancel racing early in the day. The day was not a total disappointment however, as the Novice VIII of R Murray(stk), A Curran, D Finnerty, P Murphy, C Barter, D Coffey, J Murphy, P Craven & J Lynch(cox) were able to overcome a poor start to win against UCC & Neptune Boat Clubs in one of the only finals of the day.
