The following Saturday, the 21st June, saw the club compete in Athlone Regatta at Coosan Point.
With the Inter Eight disbanded after Cork, the Inter Four was working hard to build on their success at Cork. And this they did with a good win over an improving UL crew, UCC and Metro winners St.Micheals by 2 lengths.
The MacColgain brothers from the four, Siaghal and Diarmaid, then stepped into their pair to take their pennant comfortably by 1 length from UL and Shannon
The Novice Eight again came third despite beating Neptune, the winners at Cork a week previously. UCC took first with NUIG close behind. Johnny Devitt, rowing in the Senior and Inter sculls was hindered in one of the heats by a recurring injury and had to withdraw
